Hell at the Falling-out is the first novel from Ole Miss English fellow Tiger Franklin - it could be perceived as a Cormac McCarthy photocopy, but it is a well-written first novel, and the rural Alabama location and its historical relation give it some more rivet. If you read it, please notice the symbolic allusions to the name - how many characters bottom line up in a compromised environment similar to a projectile enclosed in the claustrophobic barrel ('disguise') of a gun - physically and figuratively.
