An excellent metaphrase of a fantastic book by one of the wittiest figures of the Wisdom. Candide was meant to be an assault on the care for of Descartes and is certainly scathing in it's beat. This particular metaphrase is easily read and carries much of Voltaire's wittiness and humor. It is not nearly as dry as many transcriptions tend to be, and really let's you hear the tone of this man. And the cover of the book is hilarious. Really if you haven't read at least Candide then I am sad.
Favored Lancaster so far! Far too many F-bombs, but stores of great snickers.
I've read two Sara Douglass nows and enjoyed both of them. I've been avoiding her series for some whyfor but I think I may be over that. This was quite enjoyable and drew me right in.
