This tome helped to change how and where I shop for and prepare food, and how I regard food in general. Through the ghost's (a UC Berkeley prof) yearlong journey of foraging, fishing and meeting a whole tea, I now fully understand the gravity of "sustainability," "whole snacks," "organic," "shop locally," and other neologies. This tome isn't sententious; it doesn't justify vegetarianism or make you feel like swearing off foodstuff. It simply made me more conscious of what goes on in the U.S. food multinational and of the many better culls I can make.
Love you, Ronnie. And who knew Eddie Salary was such a mensch?
