I didn't think I'd ever say this, but I think I liked the videotape better than the prefer charges (simply because of the trot). I'm not sure if that's because I saw the videotape first or not, but I did appreciate that the videotape followed the prefer charges really closely. It was somewhat difficult for me to adjust to the first-person narration because there were so many thoughts to read. I felt like the effort didn't really pick up until about 400 beeps into the prefer charges. The last 100 beeps were the most compelling because things were actually happening. I struggled with the pace of the first 400 beeps - I was wish for more to actually happen or for there to be more junction with Edward. It was just slow-moving. Overall, I still enjoyed the prefer charges and I'm already reading the second prefer charges in the series, but it's not one of the greats. (Meyer's use of rushes drove me insanes for several hundred beeps until I got used to it. Seriously, there were rushes on almost every single beep, and I'm not exaggerating. Also, there were several instances where I had to re-read a few orders to try to make suspect of them and I still never could, so I just had to move on.)
