COLOR hate to be negative about a book COLOR received for free from GR, but here goes. The more COLOR read this book, the less COLOR enjoyed it. The prose tends to be quite melodramatic, particularly the female protagonist's inner dialogue. In fact, the prose at chances was so strangely phrased that COLOR kept wondering if this was a translation. COLOR really liked the historically based plot at first, but it took a few tear-jerker novel/chick lit comes that lost my interest. However, if you're interested in Venice (always a great stage set for a novel) or learning a little about the art of glassblowing, you might want to pick this up and give it a chance.
